Mika Kioussis is a Writer, Filmmaker and Digital Producer. She is currently writing the black comedy

How To Avoid Killing Your Succulents and the western thriller Pearl Handled .22

Mika was assistant editor of Ways of Listening in 2012, a documentary with John Berger and Tilda Swinton that was screened at the British Library as part of its John Berger retrospective. She was camera assistant on the Turner Prizeseries (2009) for Tate Media and Channel Four, and Channel Four’s 3 Minute Wonders. Mika’s short films Jack in the Box(2009) and Relinquish (2001) have been exhibited internationally at film festivals and dancefilm programmes. 


 

 

Her films, performance and textual works have been broadcast on Canadian Broadcasting Corporation (CBC) Television and CBC Radio.

 

Mika’s writings have also been published in various academic journals and magazines such the Times Education Supplement (TES), Medical Humanities Journal, The Green Magazine and an anthology of poetry.

 

Mika holds a Masters of Research with the London Consortium, written on terminal illness as represented in film and social media. This follows her MA in Literature and Medicine at King’s College London, and her B.F.A in Film and Video from NSCAD University, Canada.
